Apache Junction Rescue, Day 1

Friday, June 4th, Ben and I headed to Apache Junction to get the first 5 pigs. I'm not sure what the total number of the rescue will end up being, but I'm guessing close to 30. A woman in Apache Junction has them currently as well as other animals but it has become too much for her to handle. This is why we are stepping in.

We headed up at 6:30am. Luckily for us the pigs were relatively easy to load into carriers. They all did well on the trip back to Ironwood. We did stop once to mist them with water and make sure all were comfortable.

When we arrived back and unloaded them they immediately started investigating their new field. It was so awesome to see them get into the wallows and find their favorite places in the field.

I will keep updating on these pigs as well as the others we will be taking in.
